Shin Wong

Born in Taipei and raised in New Zealand, Shin Wong is one of the most sought-after curators and creative influencers in the region. With an eccentric professional background and eclectic industry experience in entertainment, creative and arts spanning over 15 years, Shin is recognised for her expertise in creative and conceptual thinking, artist liaison, curatorship and arts management.

Shin has been the mastermind behind Hong Kong Design Festival ‘deTour’ since 2015, a flagship annual event presented by PMQ and sponsored by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Between 2015 and 2021, the festival drew traffic of over 800,000 visitors to the event site in SoHo. Held in September 2022, ‘FabriX'(sponsored by CreateHK), Hong Kong’s first digital fashion initiative was also the brainchild of Shin.

Notable creative projects and exhibitions curated by Shin include ‘The Singing Canvases’ by Ivana Wong; ‘The Way You Look’ by Yamaguchi Soichi; ‘Unparalleled Madness’ by Wang Qingsong; ‘It is NOW’ by Tom Binns; ‘PEDDERZINE Uncatalogued’ by JOYCE; ‘Born To Be A Witness’ by G Cheuk; PMQ’s ‘Smart Fashion Runway I & II’, and many more.

Chi-wing Lee

Chi-wing Lee is a product designer and founder of Milk Design Limited. After completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Industrial Design respectively at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and then at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle in Paris, he began his design career at Habitat in France.

Upon his return to Hong Kong, Lee joined Philips Design before setting up Milk Design in 1998. He was recognised by Time Out magazine as one of the Top 25 Hong Kong Designers and Monocle magazine has described his designs as ‘simple yet experimental’. His work won numerous design awards and has been collected by museums.

Lee believes that design is a tool to explore the different facets of life, and that design is inseparable from daily living. In recent years, he has been actively involved in curatorial work – using exhibitions as a medium to promote design to the general public. Passionate about design education, he is currently a visiting lecturer at the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and is part of various design education programmes at the PMQ and the Hong Kong Design Centre.

Kay Chan Wan Ki

Graduated from the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University majoring in Industrial Design, Kay Chan Wan Ki is a product designer and community interaction planner specialising in sustainable design, whilst integrating art and design into public spaces to promote community and environmental inclusion.

Kay’s deep involvement in community interaction planning led her to infuse elements of community participation in her design and creative process. She was responsible for the design of the Tsuen Wan Yi Pei Square Playground as part of the ‘Play is for the People’ programme (sponsored by CreateHK) in 2018. In 2020, Kay redesigned the public space at Choi Yee Bridge Garden for the ‘Viva! River’ project to raise community awareness for environmental and ecological protection. She has also led educational programmes on creativity and participatory design with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, M+, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and PMQ. In recent years, Kay has actively participated in curatorial work that sparks communication and interaction, including the opening exhibition ‘Our Living Library’ at Oil Art Space in 2022.

Kay has won recognition for her strength in inspiring public creativity and turning interactions with public spaces into artistic and community explorations. Her work on the Tsuen Wan Yi Pei Square Playground for the ‘Play is for the People’ programme won the Grand Award at the 2021 DFA Design For Asia Awards (sponsored by CreateHK). In the same year, her sustainable design project ‘Revive: Salted Fish’ was named 2021 Gold Winner at South Korea’s Asia Design Prize.

STICKYLINE

STICKYLINE is a prominent creative duo comprising Mic Leong and Soilworm Lai from Hong Kong. Renowned for their distinctive, large-scale polyhedron sculptures, the duo is the mastermind behind the creative engineering, intricate mathematics and complex geometric structures in their work.

Crafting simple yet durable shapes using paper and metal, STICKYLINE combines technologies in kinetic, sound and light to enhance the experience of their work. The duo also conducts site-specific curation, explores experimental spatial experiences with minimalist geometric aesthetics and injects communal creative energy into their ever-evolving body of work.

Formed in 2011, STICKYLINE features a clientele ranging from international brands such as Ralph Lauren, Puma, Givenchy, Mercedes-Benz, Leica and Audemars Piguet to local organisations such as Design Trust, PMQ, Landmark and Lee Gardens, as well as private commissions.

Pengguin is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Hong Kong since its establishment in 2013. Found by the design duo – Todd & Soho, who believe in good design should always give a positive energy & visual satisfaction. We are good storyteller, keening on sharing story and concept by catching the chemistry between graphic and space, print and motion, communication and experiment.

The focus of our work is visual communication, branding identity, interaction & motion design, spatial & exhibition design, website and editorial project.

Our works have been selected for numerous international design awards that including D&AD, Golden Pin Design Awards, DFA Design for Asia Awards, HKDA Global Design Awards, GDC awards, and have been published in design magazine and publications.

K2 is a HK-based design & digital studio founded in October 2015. Engineers websites and mobile apps featuring top-notch visual aesthetics and delightful user experience. We believe that as much as high quality coding algorithms and strong cyber security should be emphasised, a good UI/UX is an equally, if not more, important feature for a truly great website or application.
