hardworking circuit #1 is a realisation of a schema of monotonous repetitive circuit, using as many relay switch units as possible to bridge a sequential extension of cables. All the effort is for the mere purpose of making an electrical connection.
Wong Chun Hoi graduated from the School of Creative Media in City University of Hong Kong, majoring in Critical Intermedia Laboratory. With anger as his creative drive and candidness as his artistic principle, his work evolves around sound and electronics and aims to explore the necessary useless-ness of technology and its narratives. Wong received the Gold Award in the ‘Media Art’ category at the 23rd ifva Festival.
As a current member of the Floating Projects Collective, Wong is the artistic engineer of the Floating Projects self-run art space. He also works as a sound designer and engineer as a sideline, and believes that working and learning from each other is an important process in creating art.
