- There will be approximately 15 minutes of teaching preparation before the pottery workshop begins
- The finished work will be transported and fired after the workshop.
- Please pick up the final work within 3 weeks after the workshop at Room 1506, 15 floor, Block A, Gold Way Industrial Centre, 16-20 Wing Kin Road, Kwai Tsing, New Territories
- The workshop is suitable for adults and for children over 13 years old.

At this workshop you will make your own ceramic urn, crafting your farewell in the way you prefer. Is preparing for your passing useful or useless? The hand-making process itself is an interesting medium for pondering the topic of death and ways to say goodbye—before it’s too late.

Through this activity, we can better understand the relationship between pottery and the cycle of life. Discussion of thoughts and concerns concerning funerary rituals will be encouraged. There will also be a demonstration of making ceramic urns and sharing of various urn styles. After the work is completed, arrangements will be made for the urn’s subsequent transportation and firing.

About Leaving

About Leaving aims to help people prepare objects in advance of their own deaths, including final letters, urns and funeral music—things that are only useful after death.

We hope to probe into the topic of death during the course of three workshops, encouraging participants to contemplate death in a welcoming and liberal setting, and start preparing for finality in ways that suit them best.
