XCEED presents Resonance Aura IV to continue the series of kinetic light installations Resonance Aura, resonating in different speed and sound frequencies to create specific energy models. Being the extension series of XCEED’s previous work Resonance Seed and Energy Chamber, Resonance Aura series uses the persistence of vision, sound and mechanical movement to present a new dimension form of Mandala and to create a new perspective of energy.

Inspired by the mechanics of gyroscope, Resonance Aura IV has inner and outer rings spin rapidly to generate visual with the principle of the persistence of vision (POV). Under the fast spinning motion and POV effect, visuals are being transcended into a dynamic 3D kinetic light sculpture. In the sonic aspect, ancient Solfeggio frequency is introduced in the soundtrack with the sound of singing bowls, which creates the basic tone and combines with its relative Chakras frequency for sound healing purpose. Those tones are transformed into its carrier waveform to compose an ambient atmosphere, helping the audience to reconcile their consciousness of their bodies.

Resonance Aura series is about a new perspective of energy and creating a new dimension to focus on the body, mind, soul, energy and time.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

XCEED is a new media art collective based in Hong Kong, focusing on digital art installation, crafting spatial experience, interactive and audiovisual performance. The works has been showcased to various international art festivals. Recently, RadianceScape has been selected for Ars Electronica Festival and is also exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei. Latest collaborations with art organisations and brands include Creative Media Centre of the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, ifva, City Contemporary Dance Company, Hong Kong Ballet, and more.
