Foraging For The Local Aroma

Welcome to “Foraging For The Local Aroma,” an exhibition inspired by the ancient practice of foraging. This exhibition aims to reintroduce the concept of foraging in our modern cities, where the rich tapestry of scents often goes unnoticed. By encouraging visitors to slow down, observe their surroundings, and explore their environment on foot, we enable them to uncover the unique aroma profiles within their communities.

The exhibition moves away from traditional perfumery and focuses on a democratic approach to scent creation through foraging. We empower individuals to define their own sense of “local” by providing ideas for easy DIY projects that can be done at home. Our goal is to foster a bottom-up, democratic culture that allows the community to shape the aroma culture of our city.

The exhibition is divided into four parts: MATERIALS, PROCESSES, AROMA, and EXPERIENCE. By showcasing the materials found within a 2km radius of our studio, exploring the captured scents, and demonstrating the creation of an aroma craft piece, we invite visitors on an olfactory adventure to rediscover the hidden scents that define our vibrant city.
