Motion Sculpture Workshop

1 / 1

In traditional wood furniture making, live edges of wood logs are usually chopped off as their density and colour vary from the core wood. However, we see live edge as a fluid, breathing landscape that used to live in nature. The edges are records of a tree’s life, just like human fingerprints — no two live edges are ever the same.

In this workshop, we want to empower our participants to make a motion sculpture with wood. After the workshop, participants can take home their wood bird motion sculptures. Suspended from the ceiling, this motion sculpture made with wood imitates the movement of flying birds, gliding softly into the edge of an individual’s life.
