This year, in response to “Design as ONE” RIBA Talk 2022! asks Design Professionals to think about Design as something new and as a regenerative proposition, putting “REPLACE” and “RECLAIM” into debate as the world seeks to combat climate change. This session explores ‘ONE’ as a new beginning and as a continuous, cyclical process. Design professionals will be asked if design should meet market demands, feed consumerism and fuel economic growth; or if design needs to consider life and sustainability. Are fast fashion, fast architecture and fast product design the answers to an expanding global population? Do designers have a responsibility to contribute in tackling the climate change crisis?
